This Exhibition celebrates our amazing British countryside, unique National Parks & glorious Scottish Highlands, from Journeys near and far, through an amazing collection of coastlines, hills and dales, fields and lochs.
These paintings also describe my delight in working within the landscape itself. Being there in the elements focuses the mind in many ways and brings an immediacy to each painting. Working in acrylic on primed watercolour paper taped to a board, I build thin layers of paint, creating light and movement using ‘dry’ brush technique. Often using a graphite stick to apply some rough marks to start and sometimes a coloured pencil flourish to finish.
