Update – should be sorted by the end of this week.
The Annual Exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists takes place from 19th – 29th October
The Natural Eye
As a full member I will be exhibiting 8 pieces. Also this year, I will have fieldwork, sketches and small canvases completed as part of a collaborative project between SWLA and Dorset Wildlife Trust. Nine of us selected SWLA members spent 4 days at the stunning Kingcombe Meadows Reserve in West Dorset to sketch, photograph and record aspects of the traditional landscapes. All our work so far will be on display in the ‘Out of the Frame’ room in the Mall Galleries. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, lovely gallery cafe too!
Here are a couple of field sketches done over the late May holiday at Kingcombe:
As you may know I have a space here at the Attic Gallery, part of Broadwindsor Craft Centre.
This is a co-operative and there are about 16 of us here in the Gallery – painters, printmakers and 3D artists, with a brilliant cafe and craft units below us!
The Gallery is open 11 am – 4 pm Tues to Sunday, and the Craft Centre and Cafe 10 am – 5 pm every day…
Herringbone in Charmouth – I have just delivered some new work to this brilliant co-operative showing the work of around 40 local artists.
Well worth a visit!

I recently discovered I am to be included in a project with Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Society of Wildlife Artists, at Kingcombe Meadows in Dorset. The residency is at the end of May this year, with ongoing work and a show next year at Kingcombe also.
This is very exciting. Kingcombe is a special Nature Reserve, an amazing patchwork of fields with thick hedgerows, ancient green lanes and wooded areas, with the river Hooke running through… more news later

An innovative exhibition comes to the Arts Centre – exploring Boundaries…here the intricacies of our rich coastline are revealed, inspired by coastal forms: where land meets sea.
Both Heather and Antonia are established and well known professional artists, based in Dorset. Both are drawn to the coast and coastal edges and are pleased to present this collaborative new show.
Heather – oil and charcoal, Antonia – acrylic and printmaking.
Antonia and Heather have strong links with the area, celebrating Dorset’s unique coastline in very different styles, yet with a common goal…
