As a full member I will be exhibiting 8 pieces. Also this year, I will have fieldwork, sketches and small canvases completed as part of a collaborative project between SWLA and Dorset Wildlife Trust. Nine of us selected SWLA members spent 4 days at the stunning Kingcombe Meadows Reserve in West Dorset to sketch, photograph and record aspects of the traditional landscapes. All our work so far will be on display in the ‘Out of the Frame’ room in the Mall Galleries. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, lovely gallery cafe too!

Here are a couple of field sketches done over the late May holiday at Kingcombe:

Artist residency with Dorset Wildlife Trust and SWLA

I recently discovered I am to be included in a project with Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Society of Wildlife Artists, at Kingcombe Meadows in Dorset. The residency is at the end of May this year, with ongoing work and a show next year at Kingcombe also.

This is very exciting. Kingcombe is a special Nature Reserve, an amazing patchwork of fields with thick hedgerows, ancient green lanes and wooded areas, with the river Hooke running through…   more news later
